They Summited!

We haven't heard yet today, but this could be their summit day. We are all hoping to get a call soon, and will update the blog as soon as we hear something.

---Update 4:45pm Alaska Time---

They didn't call yesterday because they were busy going to the summit! We got a call this afternoon from the 14,000 camp and they are on their way down and hope to reach basecamp tommorow. If the weather cooperates they could all be in Talkeetna by tommorow evening.

Congratulations!

Move to High Camp!

They had a beautiful day today and were able to move up to high camp at 17,200ft. The weather has been beautiful and everyone is making the most of it and climbing on up the hill. They will most likely take a rest day at high camp tommorow, and then be ready to try for the summit the following day.

Watching the Wind Blow

We just got a call from the team at 14,000 feet. The winds are blowing up high and so they are sitting tight, eating lot's of food, taking naps, and catching up on their reading. Not too much suffering going on up there, but everyone is anxious to see the weather improve so they can make the move to High Camp. The forecast is for the weather to improve thru the weekend. Grant and Sachiko came down from 14,000 with Joe Butler and are back in Anchorage and on their way home soon.

The Team Called Last Night!

They are doing great, and at 14,000 feet. Yesterday they went down to 13,500 and picked up the load of extra food and fuel they had cached two days prior. Today the team will rest at 14,000 feet acclimate, and get ready for the upper mountain. Philip had to come down, and so Joe Butler (guide) brought him down to basecamp. Sorry to see him go, good luck to the rest of the crew.

Moving To 14,000ft camp

We are waiting to get a cell phone call from Billmeier at 14,000 feet today. Yesterday they all carried a load of food and fuel to 13,000 feet, and today they planned to move camp up to 14. This will be the first camp where they can call out on the cell phone, so stay tuned for an update this evening.
